A taste of Sardinia, wherever we gather. Food is where AKENTU began. From handmade culurgiones to bottarga and aged pecorino, Sardinian ingredients and traditions are at the heart of intimate dinners, private gatherings and bespoke food experiences.
What is akentu?
AKENTU is an independent cultural and creative project rooted in Sardinia. It began in Berlin through food: private dinners, pop-ups and gatherings bringing people together around Sardinian cuisine, stories and traditions. Today, it is growing into something broader — a space for encounters, ideas and collaborations across food, art, culture and sustainability.
From Sardinia, to Sardinia.
AKENTU is my way of reconnecting with Sardinia while creating something that moves in both directions: from the island outwards, and from elsewhere back to the island. I believe places grow when people, ideas and opportunities can move freely between them. The aim is to build bridges between Sardinia and the people, perspectives and possibilities that can help shape its future — while staying connected to the things that make it unique.

Food is where AKENTU began, and it remains one of the ways we bring people together. Through small gatherings and creative collaborations, we explore the connections between Sardinian culture and contemporary life.

For those who want to create opportunities that weren't always available to us growing up — and make them possible for the next generation. You don't have to be from Sardinia to be part of it. You just have to be curious about what we can build together.

AKENTU wants to explore how culture, creativity and sustainability can contribute to the future of Sardinia. From local food systems, land and new ways of creating opportunities in the territory, the project is interested in ideas that connect cultural heritage with contemporary challenges. The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals offer one useful framework for this exploration — particularly those related to sustainable communities, responsible consumption and production, and the protection of terrestrial ecosystems. Not as a label, but as a starting point for asking better questions, learning from others and turning ideas into action.
